Think about your above post if you end up not voting for Trump.
I want to vote for Trump. But IF he gives us a Federal law decreeing background checks for the sale of private property (guns) between private individuals, or backs widespread red flag laws, NOTHING GOOD THAT HE CAN DO will make up for it. We will have lost the right of PRIVATE PROPERTY. And the protection of the Second Amendment. After doing so, he can promise and give us all ANYTHING that we want- but it would all be taken away from us eventually, once we have no guns, when the dems (or a RINO) take over again. I hope that President Trump will not do either of those things, but if he does, I cannot vote for him again. He will have done to the 2nd what Wilson did to our financial system with the 'Fed', and Nixon did to enable our massive deficit spending by closing the 'gold window'..

Considering something is not threatening, that's the same logic as closed borders is being racist.

And the way the press has been with trump, it seems like every single time he does ANYTHING, they extrapolate it as far as they can, and scream that Trump is making the sky fall one day, and pulling the earth out from under it the next... it's one hyperbolic extreme after another. They seem incapable of restraint in any way when it comes to Trump.

I'm not sure how you came up with that, but okay. If that's how you work it out, then it's not my analogy, but only yours.
Look, when I talk to my students the first days of class I tell them that if they have any issues to bring them to me and I will consider it. I'm not threatening anyone and I'm not saying it will change anything, it means I will think about it.
Have you seen Don Jr's take on suppressors? Hopefully his advice would influence his thinking.

    Hopefully so.
My point is, if you're willing to take a stance on something that wouldn't change anything and had nothing to do with the recent shootings , then what does that stance do? Placate your adversary for a minute, an hour? It doesn't change their mind, not now, not ever. I'm just saying that if you're wanting make a law that doesn't effect anything but your constituency, then why do it?
There's no political advantage to this decision other than to piss off your constituency, at least some of us.

I don't think he's trying to piss anyone off, ok, maybe a few democrats. I believe he has quite a few advisors, the question is, is he getting good advice?

Perhaps, we shall see. He's pretty good at political maneuvering, but it's yet to be seen on this subject.
A general statement that he's friends with the NRA gives me little hope. Impatiently waiting. I have no doubt that he's not trying to piss anyone off, but the NRA doesn't always speak for me.
Trump, prove me wrong and I will gladly admit it.

Actually, congress is playing hooky until September 9th, so we are safe until then.

Yep, that is the way to show him. Help put a leftist Dem in office, who will try to do much more damage to the 2nd.

I hope he realized the bump stock thing cost him support. I also think he was depending on his advisors on gun control when he made the ban. I also believe his primary advisor was the NRA ala Pepe' LePew. Mistake.

I hope he learned from his "mistake".

Overstate much? Shouting doesn't help either. A background check does not take away the right to private property. We already have BCs, just not UBCs. And BCs and UBCs certainly don't take away our 2A. Get a grip.

I have a grip, pal. Are you one of those government-can-do-no-wrong types ? A government shill perhaps ? And are you advocating background checks if I sell a gun to my next-door neighbor ? If you are, you are taking away from my and my neighbor's rights to private property.

And now you are being offensive. No one has made my spread sheet so fast.

I'm getting too old to even consider joining a real fight. My vote is about all I have. Trump is no friend to the 2nd Amendment. Every so called compromise is another step to Socialism. Voting for he who will hurt me the least is just losing rights and freedoms one step at a time.
I'm not beyond becoming fed up and just quitting. Sadly I know I'm not alone. Trump, Cruz and Crenshaw need to learn this.
