This is it. Thanks. I posted, and was corrected by TXI who posted the actual law. Very informative.

Specifically, post 10. Concealed carry with a CHL is still allowed, and open carry (which would only be a long gun) is disallowed. There's no offense on the part of the person carrying, it's an offense for the owner to allow it.

...and NM, and LA as well.

Oh no! We're surrounded by unlicensed open carry!

I will happily stay out of Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Louisiana actually. One's more flat than here, one's the real life No Country for Old Men, and one will make me gain ten pounds the moment I cross the border and find quality boudin sausage and red beans and rice. Mmmm good, a little too good. :pig:

I'll go easy because I love you, Matt.

Didn't say it was illegal, said it's a no no. Reason being is that you, one put that business at risk (and that's just inconsiderate) and two, they'll ask you to leave and then you have to legally. So why would you carry in any business (long gun) that sells alcohol.

30.06 only applies to congealed handguns and chl.

Good question. I sure wouldn't but I suppose this argument falls into the "because I can" category. As long as it's legal, I have no issue with people who want to do what they do as long as they don't bother me or mine.

I don't have a stand on this because if something happens I will be undercover pulling my concealed 1911 out.

Seriously, I think OC is okay if that is what you want. I think we need what some call Constitutional Carry like the 2nd says..."bear arms."

I dont think I would ever open carry, but I would like it passed so that if Im reaching for
something on shelf at a store, and my shirt rides up and then I walk around the store with
my shirt up over my gun, I wouldnt be arrested, or slammed to the ground by some over
    reacting cop.
