How can you be arrogant enough to judge everyone here when you haven't bothered to participate around here, other than being rude in your intro thread? This isn't prison, you don't have to prove you're 'tough' or anything.
I haven't been rude at all. Literally all I've done since joining is respond to insults based on my California residence. Honestly, I've never experienced anything like this.

…I like and respect virtually everyone on this forum. I do wish the bloodletting with FNG’s would wind down some, regardless of where they’re from in the world…
Agree, and I’m not a pot calling the kettle black.

I usually step into these discussions when it comes to the public lands piece, (real) history, and statutes, but I also dabble in politics and other civics subjects where data is present. Those can be informative if you listen and exchange information.

Except the part about communism/communists of course, and the socialism/socialist phase along that past. That get’s a helicopter ride at my expense.

IThis one is a mild irritation to me. Those folks were not all the same...
You are kinder than I am. When I pointed this out before, some members just assumed I was retarded, so I gave up on that line of effort.

…I can think of more than one person who was banned, came back under another name, and has been a good member of TGT ever since.
Concur. Don’t be surprised if you’re told to shut your whore mouth though.

I just wish we could get back to that part of life about not saying anything if you can’t say something nice at all, unless you can prove it publicly.

    Well, let's see...

My apologies. We are allowed to advertise on our calguns sigs.

Might have to revise my appraisal of Texans. Thanks for the heads up.

So, having rules for posting business links on our board isn't "up to snuff" for you, so you "might have to revise" your 'appraisal" of Texans. Kind of arrogant, and it raised some eyebrows as you can see from some of the replies.

California had open carry before Texas had open carry.

Just gotta try to one-up Texas...which is not a great way to improve your impression. Especially when you're in a state where 2A rights are being rapidly eroded while here they're being recovered.

Most likely, I am more conservative than anyone else on this board.

A constitutional conservative, except I want 8A, 16A, and 17A repealed. Especially 8A. And sometimes I have doubts about 19A but will revisit that after the civil war, if that happens. (I have no problem with my wife and daughter voting, they are well-trained in rifle and pistol; it's all of YOUR wives and daughters I'm worried about.)

And yes, we are all supporting Trump even though my wife is Ukrainian and Trump has to say some not so great things about Ukraine to maintain support during the primary among MAGA which is great on every issue except (unfortunately for us) terribly misinformed on Ukraine due to provably false Russian propaganda spread among Ukraine-ignorant qtards beginning early Feb 2022. If you look at Trump's actions rather than his words (purposely chaotic for negotiation) his actions have been far better for Ukraine than those of any Dem; that is why we support him. But he must get the nomination, so he says things like Ukraine should give up territory, &c.

And that opening line up there is where it went off the rails. Those are almost the exact words a troll who claimed to be from California used a few weeks ago before he flamed out spectacularly. Choosing that particular boast certainly made me suspicious of you.

Then after that, you (who claim to be conservative) advocate for repealing one of the amendments of the original Bill of Rights. There's a red flag right there.

But the main thing here is, you're doubling down instead of realizing you're making a bad impression. You're really living down to a stereotype other Californians have created ahead of you - the whole "we do it better in Cali" attitude when we can look at the current state of California and wonder what it is you're bragging about.

Coming in here, belittling Texas and Texans and throwing around that attitude...that's not doing you any favors. Personally, I hope you're not the previous guy with another guise, but you're starting off the exact same way he did. If you start bragging about getting pedicures and wearing your crocs everywhere we'll be sure.

so said thecalifornia transplant who got all butthurt when he got called on his bullshit then flamed out and leftsorry but yes we are suspicious of california transplants because the say they are conservatives then within a short time revert back to a cali mentality and flame out so don't tell us how muchmore conservative you are than us prove it!

From the perspective of a non-Texan, OP's comment was most assuredly a slight to Texans. Unless this thread just dies, it'll end up being locked. I'd say OP might want to start over, but, and they say...you never get a second chance to make a first impression.

Have to respond because you are misrepresenting my posts and no one is going to read through everything to find the truth:

The first post excerpt about reappraisal was not directed at the admins. There were several posts before my post 11 that were unfriendly, and my experience over my 58 years with Texans I've met is that they are almost always friendly. Very unique in that regard. The admins can have whatever policy they want on "advertising", I just wish I knew of the policy before posting and I really don't like having posts edited as it can change meaning. A better way to do this is republishing and then giving the poster a chance to revise. But my reappraisal comment was not at all directed at admins, who will be admins.

The second excerpt was a direct response to the guy that posted the tranny freak pic. It was not an attempt to "one-up" Texas. No one in Texas should be concerned about Texas being one-upped in anything, except maybe weather and scenery but I'm looking forward to seeing what Texas offers there.

As for the third excerpt, I hoped you would realize the comment about repealing 8A was tongue-in-cheek, but have to admit I do at times fantasize about bringing back cruel and unusual punishments. I also hoped you would realize the constitution itself provides a means for repealing amendments. The process itself might wake enough people up to obviate the need for repealing 8A. But 16A and 17A need to go for sure.

I'm not belittling Texas or Texans. I'm only responding to Texans belittling themselves. Which is a very strange thing, because every Texan I can recall meeting in real life has been ten feet tall.

See, we've had enough Californians come in (both figurateively here and literally in real life) swaggering around and loudly proclaiming how things were better in CA (so why did they leave?) and that we should do things the way they do (yeah, no thanks)...and then you came in and while you may have thought you were being witty, you were checking off box after box that we've seen before from the worst examples of your neighbors. It came off very poorly.

And then, as I pointed out, you made the same brag a previous troll who claimed to be from CA threw around. You (hopefully) had no way to know, but when you said the line it really seemed to confirm the worst.

Look, I hope you're sincere and I hope you wind up having a great time participating here. We're a decent bunch of folks and we take care of our own. But you'll have to forgive us if we're a bit wary of the California guy who's hitting all of the "expected" behaviors, even in jest.

One of the things that, most, new members fail to do is read the form rules. Not just one or two, but the majority of them. That way, new members will know what is expected of them. That would save a lot of bad feelings from some of the existing members.

Honestly; start your own forum if you want to make the rules. Otherwise, follow the rules everyone else has to.

You’ve now failed to answer two questions I’ve asked when quoting you. I’m truly curious the answers.

ETA: Most of the members here know one another face to face, it’s what makes this place different than most other places on the internet. Come to one of our reunions or other events, I think you’ll be surprised at what’s conveyed in carbon-based exchanges instead of electron based.

Please, no. Since I now understand the joke, killing it would be a sin.

I will, however, note that there always a few folks who truly believe that every new member who makes a clumsy beginning is a returning, previously banned troll. I wish they'd lighten up.
