I think i'll let some other brothers be the guinea pigs. I would like to try OC simply to see if my experience differs the non-events that seem to be the norm in this thread. Other than that CC is fine for me.

At least 2 on here have had no issues. The owner of Brrok's BBQ in Cypress is black and gave a 25% discount to everyone who came to his place on 1/1/16 that open carried.
I think you will be alright.

In a holster, no matter your skin color, shouldn't be a problem. If you're running around accosting strangers, pointing it in their faces like Tamir Rice was, before he tried to get the draw on police, you might have a problem.

I think it really depends on each & every one of us to show the example & prove the socialist liberals wrong.... Carry open if you choose, it's now law, if a property owner or manager asks you to leave or put it away, then do so. No arguing, be polite. it is up to all of us to help educate the public and show them our knowledge of the law & the responsibilities of having a CHL.

But from this moment on, I'm going to open carry however I choose to use at least a level II holster for my kahr K9. Or at least I think my Desantis thumb break speed scabbard is level II. not sure.

The point is, the more we carry open, the more exposure the general public will get & hopefully in time it won't be such a big deal that some are making out of it...

I personally agree with you, but I also understand that since we have the option to do both, others will prefer concealed carry.

Oh I wholeheartedly agree. but at the same time, nothing normalizes the existence & presence of armed citizenry more than open carry, because conceal carry by it's very nature is concealed from the public eye. You want the public to get used to guns? Then have guns seen in public carried by knowledgeable & friendly gun owners. By being friendly, we make the gun friendly as well...Conceal carry is good, open carry is good, and both should be supported.

We agree completely. Just know that there are those here that are anti-OC, personally, but support our general right to OC.

Ultimately, one can hope that the legislature considers taking up Constitutional Carry in 2017, but I wouldn't count on it until 2019 (depending on the presidential results).

We can pray CJ has a stroke, which might help us in 2017.

OCd on January 1 with a couple yayhoos from TGT .....had 2 gentlemen approach us, one who thanked us for standing up for our rights and said he felt safer, the other was a veteran who thanked us for exercising the rights he defended!

Probably CC but occasional OC isnt out of the question!

    DubiousDan,

I resemble that remark. - It's "a H of a note" when you're the same size from your chest to your thighs.

    LOL, satx

Unfortunately I'm rather round in the middle, still no hips or butt. I gained 45 pounds since my legs went bad and I don't get as much exercise.
