I took my daughter to Sprouts in Spring on Dec. 30 and they had a 30.06 sign posted but no 30.07. I had to wait outside while she went in to grab a couple of things. If there is still no 30.07 sign posted that means I can now open carry in there although I can't carry concealed there, right? (Although, I have no doubt I would be immediately approached and be given verbal notice once I was observed OCing.)

So what should be the proper protocol here:

    1. Say nothing and leave?
    2. Say nothing and carry anyway, as the sign isn't legal?
    3. Say something to management?
    4. Take a picture and send something to Attorney General?
    5. Other...

    Why would the AG care?

The proper protocol is conceal your handgun and carry in if you wish.

Open carried at the Academy in the lower RGV, no problems, also Oc'd at a CVS store & Walgreen's... I politely asked the mgr at my favorite chick fil A in Brownsville and he told me that they will post 30.07 signs at his store. In addition, after 20 yrs since passing conceal carry, the Sunrise mall in brownsville posted both 30.06 AND 30.07 signs just the other day.....jeez

The sign is legal and the proper thing to do is tuck your shirt/jacket over your gun & enter.. a 30.07 only means you cannot carry open.... they have to post a 30.06 to prohibit conceal carry....

It has to have inch tall letters, that sign is on a piece of paper that is 8.5x11 inches. No where near enough room to meet that requirement.

I went to my local Valero store that i go to regularly and notice a 3006 and 3007 sign. I went in and asked why they put the signs up ,they told me that the G.H.R.A organization came in and posted the signs. I explained what each sign meant and was able to get them to remove the 3006 but not the 3007. I'm going to call Texas
Law Shield Monday and ask if this is even legal for them to post signs in stores and not explain what they mean.

I saw the sign on another independent Valero and was surprised. Kudos for getting them to change it. All I did was use their microwave and not purchase something, so take that valero! :green:
