Why sometimes I want a receipt from a private seller for tax purpose since most guns I buy I can justify as a business expense.
What you just explained, on an Internet forum that is monitored by alphabet agencies, is engaging in the business of dealing firearms without a license.

I am surprised that a volunteer parent/part time instructor triggers some people here.

A volunteer parent/part time instructor doesn't.

Someone trying to justify requirements for a private sale that have no legal justification does. If you want to go that route, just pay the extra $20 an go through an FFL. Then you can have a whole 4473 filled out, and get your proof of the sale for the IRS.

Thanks for your suggestion and I will think about it.
