As cheap as those batteries are, If they last the day I wouldn't worry about it unless I forgot to get some when out, then I'd be a bit peeved.

In the FWIW dept. I have a new set of hearing aids that blocks the ear canal completely. If I turn them off they are like ear plugs. I mentioned this to the Audiologist and she said I still needed to wear muffs. Reason being there are bones behind the ear that also transfer sound. These are covered by muffs.

I had a pair of Howard Leight, used them once and then 3 months later when I took them out again they were dead. New batteries didn't help. Bought them thru Amazon and they refunded my money.

I have 2 different models of Howard Leight muffs.
The one I use most are the Impact Pros, with an NRR of 30, which is very high.
Also have the Sport model, for use when shooting anything with a stock, but their NRR is lower, only 22.

Yeah, I have the impact Pros also, they often are in the way though.

They don't seem to be in as much of the way on a rifle with a red dot or sights.
Interesting , been so long since I've shot anything with a stock, but no scope.

I only within the last 10 years started using any hearing protection.
We never used anything when hunting while I was growing up, deer or birds.

I most always used hearing protection shooting, if only I had been as smart in the places I worked.
