What rifle do you think would serve best if things continue to get worse/more destabilized. Take into account ammo, accessibility to extra parts, carrying weight, and performance.

For me, it would be my AR-15. Why?
1. The available of parts
2. The availability of ammo
3. Light weight and maneuverable
4. With my CMMG 22LR drop in conversion, I can use 22LR for small game without using up regular ammo
5. With a suppressor attached, 22LR is quieter than 223/5.56

If its just for survival on the run, and not for defending yourself, a bolt action in 22lr with a ton of ammo.

Hard to leave behind a good 308 though.

7” very well suppressed 300 BO.

I would have said my DD .308 semi, until last week at the range. I let a Marine Recon friend shoot my (fully legal /2 stamp) .300 BO with 2x12” suppressor. You can hear the bolt and target strike but virtually no shot report If there’s any background noise.
His point was well suppressed weapons in an opponent’s hands is most dangerous as it’s very difficult to find them in a firefight. And this one scares him.

For me I will go with a fat gal warmth in winter shade in summer and good shielding, then any large caliber semi auto.
