Wish I would have taken a picture. Wife made a chicken pot pie. Holy crap. Better than the ones at Boston Market. And those are really good.

Been one of those days...bought a beat up used gun for $90, found it brand new less than 4 hours later for $120.

Anyway, baby back ribs and pork tenderloin on the smoker . Trying to watch Columbo and handle the smoker during commercials. Everything is going good. One hour in, I spritz them with apple juice . 10-15 minutes later I do a check on wood and temperature and see the bottle of "apple juice " is actually a bottle of "Awesome " cleaner I grabbed by mistake!!!

I rinsed the heck out of them, gave them several hot baths followed by more rinsing . Oh well, they're darn sure clean now . Prolly be ok, but maybe I should have stayed in bed today .
Sounds like something I'd do.... LOL

    Lentil and split peas.

Bacon fried in the pot. Grease sopped up with a paper towel. Chopped onion and sliced garlic. Celery and carrots. Spices. Teaspoon of butter. 1/3 slice jalapeno with seeds and core.

A mix of vegetable and chicken broth for the juice. The veg came from a little jug. Chicken was the cubes.

    Served with saltine crackers.

    Sous vide corned beef.
    48 hours @ 140F
Best of the best, outta this world ... cabbage cooking in the pot(bag) liquor.

ETA: typical of meat cooked sous vide, when first sliced it appears red, but turns pink after a few minutes exposure to air. This had the tender, tasty texture of perfectly cooked corned beef. Damn, this was good ...

Easy night tonight. Salmon soaked in some Jim Beam. Mixed vegetables for me, Broccoli for the girlfriend.

The salmon will be served on parboiled rice.

Long day and I needed it simple, while I took a shower.
Shake and bake chicken and pasta sides from a pouch.
    It's about done simmering.

Found this guy in the front yard... I think it's a boletus rubricitrinus, but I'm no expert. Whatever it was, it was delicious! Sauteed it in butter and avacado oil, then fried up some duck eggs in the left over oil.

Dan. Dan. Dan???? Oh well, people wanna move out when they see a little harmless snake in their house, but they will eat a mushroom they aren't 100% sure about?

I'll stick to snakes. But, actually , I would love to be able to forage mushrooms. They just scare me, there are poisonous look alikes, and I envision my last meal in prison or a hospital, not my kitchen.

BTW, I'm sure Dan is fine, the buzz will wear off soon.....JK.
