    Tonight, turkey legs.
Purchased because blondie didn't know a leg from a thigh.
    Sous vide experiment.
    ... we'll see?

Sous vide Turkey Leg (Arkansas Thigh).
145F for 14 hours/Seared 2 min side in broiler top shelf.
Served with salad and rice & gravy (pot/bag liquor made good gravy).

Well, technically it's lunch. At Mary's Cafe in Strawn. Gonna get the medium CFS.

Calf fries are on the menu. Feel like I'm home again.

    deemus,

I definitely hear you. = Making friends with the capador assured me, as a "wet behind the ears kid", to get the best morsels.

Btw, supper tonight is definitely "GI", as I'm making SOS, with "eggs to order" on top, toast/biscuits & "scattered, smothered & covered home fries", for a few friends.
(Most former members of "of a certain age" of the US Armed Forces KNOW that dish & either LOVE or HATE it.)
Note: "My" recipe is actually the traditional WWI era (or perhaps earlier) recipe of 10th Mountain Division.

I just had to put something quick and easy on the table. Chicken Schnitzel and oven fries.

Shit on a shingle is straight up comfort food to me. Funny when my dad use to make it only he my brother & myself would eat it. Mom & my sister generally were not even home. Now a days it be me & the dawg, wife won't eat it either. Never once heard the wife bitch about biscuits & sausage gravy.

    baboon,

My Darla was orphaned at 4YO, due to a double fatality traffic accident, who cost her both parents, was raised by a new emigrant Sicilian grandmother (who knew ZILCH about the US military) and knew ZILCH about the military herself as a result. She had never even heard of SOS. = One night a couple of years ago, I made her SOS on toast, with over-easy eggs on top. = SHE LOVED IT.

SATX, did some work for a girl years ago that had a similar incident. Mom, dad, and brother died. She barely survived. She was 8, and her parents wealthy, and was cared for by her grandparents and her trust fund.

Sweet kid had several surgeries to fix her legs, arms and hips. She's grown and married now, and the spitting image of her gorgeous mom.

    deemus,

My lady & her brother, who was 6 weeks old at the time, were at the babysitter's home, when the TA happened.
(She says that she really has NO memory of her parents.)

GLAD to hear that the YL that you mentioned survived.

Soup & Fried cornbread tonight, for me.
(Darla is in CA & taking care of her kid sister, who is in the hospital & NOT doing real well.)

I cannot tell a LIE, I truly LOVE hot/greasy fried corn bread fritters.

I got myself one of those air fryers. I have to say they make some good Chicken wings crispy and moist . I like a liitle breading on mine. That will be dinner tonight or some Cevapi from the Local food truck guy

    Low carb tasty.
Lamb leg steak, mashed cauliflower, homemade guacamole, vine tomato.

To hell with low carb - Bloody Mary.
