Buckmark for me. I had a Ruger MKII with bull barrel and replaced the sear\hammer with a VQ drop in that I traded off and kept the Buckmark.

I got an upgraded trigger with overtravel stop from buckmark.com, a Trail-Lite® Picatinny Scope Bases, and green dot off of primary arms.

If you have one start here: http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=212717

Parts are cheap off the buckmark website. I ordered a few small things from there as backups and an upgraded travel stop trigger. Get some replacement rubber stops while you're there for sure.

Wood grips and a threaded 5.5 in barrel are on the wish list. It shoots very well though without those.

That said if I was buying a 22lr that'd last 4 generations are more I'd go with a Ruger MKII. It's built better and is a very simple design. I'm not worried

My Buck Mark has one of the best stock triggers I've ever experienced with a pistol.

It's deadly accurate and a breeze to clean.

    (I don't break it down)

    Buckmark

When getting my first 22 I did a little research & it seemed that out of box the buckmark would have the better trigger. Having now got one I'm very happy with it.

I'd be surprised if you were disappointed with either

I used to shoot it a lot once it worked. I missed the 22lr semi more than the mosquito itself. Now my new S&W 22 Compact fills that need and is a much better gun.

I say Buck Mark because the Ruger is a pain in the anus to take apart and put back together. You need a mallet and punch and a dental pick and a block of wood to bash it apart and then reach inside and move stuff around into the right position to make it go back together.

If I could find a Buck Mark with a threaded barrel I'd shoot my Ruger until it got all gunked up and stopped working and throw it away and replace with the Browning.
Less than 20 seconds. Take down and less than 20 seconds to put back together.

Many people have greater difficulty with it. Having had Rugers, Brownings, and a Neo, it was my least favorite pistol to take down out of any pistol I had, including the occasional breakdown of the internals on revolvers.

As noted, there are aftermarket parts now that fix most of that issue.

Now if field stripping pistols is a deal for you, the NEO beats them all hands down. You rotate a threaded bolt about 720 and the barrel and top come off.

No, that is true but the M&P 22c is winning a lot of admirers. I could have bought the Ruger or the Buckmark but chose the M&P. It feels and shoots great for my purposes.I understand it mates to the sparrow like they were intended for each other..

That is why they have do many available so each can choose his own favorite. Otherwise we could live with just one model of anything. I'm happy with mine and you with yours but I bet you never owned, or fired the M&P 22 compact.

I've got a buckmark and a Ruger: same old story, both are great shooters, Ruger sucks to take apart. I'm interested in adding the S&W Victory .22 after playing with one a bit at SHOT..

I've had a S&W 422 since the 80's and I like it alot. All of my kids used it as their first gun to shoot.
