Badger M4 or M5 bottom metal? DBM or not?

So I want to change the bottom metal on my 700, and Badger makes the M4 with the hinged floor plate, and the M5 which accepts detachable magazines. They're the same price.

I want different but I'm not sure I want a detachable magazine. But it's hard to justify the cost. Like I said, the M4 is the same price; it doesn't offer much advantage over factory other than it's prettier.

Another option is the Hooper DBM which is supposed to be a factory drop-in with no inletting required.

    Input?

Definitely go DBM. It makes life so much easier.

Badger is top-shelf product. You will not go wrong with it.

    Short action 308.

What do you know about the Hooper Ordnance bottom metal? I like that it's a drop-in fit.

If I were you; I'd seriously consider looking at the offerings from Seekins.

I've not heard of them until now. Looked at his website. Looks very well built, but I know nothing of it.
You might look at Sniper's Hide...the guy's over there say he's good to go.

    Re: Seekins/AICS...

Hmmm, much cheaper and still top-quality product. I do like that they use AICS magazines. I didn't realize that most others use their own proprietary magazine.

Lots of recommendations for CDI as well, on snipershide.com. AICS-compatible and only $210 shipped. Too many options! lol

So now you just have to find one that is going to fit your particular stock with minimal fussing.

Get this one and be done...

Lol @ the price. Definitely lol @ the weight - nearly 6lbs. No thanks. This is still a hunting rifle that I will be slinging (sometimes); mostly it will be transported in the rack on the Kawi Mule.

My stock is a HSP PST012 (I think it's a 700P replica stock?). I definitely want something that will be minimal fuss. Drop-in would be excellent.
